Just when we thought that Trojans cannot deliver any more surprises, the newest Trojan variant to hit the computing world made sure that it is seen and heard-literally. While most Trojan variants merely open windows or display messages, this new variant actually speaks. Detected by Trend Micro as TROJ_BOTVOICE.B, this Trojan plays a voice message while it performs its malicious routines. It uses the Microsoft Text-To-Speech (TTS) feature to continuously play the following text into spoken words:

You has been infected, I repeat you has been infected and your system files has been deletes. Sorry. Have a nice day and bye bye.

Malware creators have again showcased their creativity in taunting their victims. True to what it says, this Trojan is potentially destructive. Even though it only deletes certain files and not those restricted or protected under specific folders, it may be able to affect system files as well. It likewise disables the Task Manager and Windows Registry Editor, preventing easy removal from the affected system.

Trend Micro detects this Trojan in the latest pattern release. Users are advised to keep their pattern files and scan engines updated to address this new threat.
