I’m very much looking forward to seeing old & new friends in Barcelona next week at the annual APWG Counter E-Crime Operations Summit (CeCOS) 2009. This will be the third instance of this event (I have been to all three), and I am happy to report that if the upcoming Barcelona conference is anything like the ones prior (San Francisco in 2007 and Tokyo in 2008), it should be a fantastic venue, with outstanding results.

What we are trying to accomplish — as a community — is a methodology to stem the spread of cyber crime, and that means engagement at all levels: public, private, and government.

A couple of us from Trend Micro will be presenting at the conference, and/or sitting on panel discussions, so if you are in the neighborhood, please drop by.

It is a great meet-up, and I am quite confident that many good things will come out of this meeting.

Mucho gusto!
