Malware Blog > New MS Office 2003 PowerPoint Local Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Just after Microsoft released its updates for October, Nanika of chroot.org released a new PoC (proof of concept) which crashes the MS 0FFICE 2003 Power Point application. I tested the PoC (proof of concept) on my fully patched OFFICE 2003 PowerPoint and it worked.

As of now, the PoC can only crash the Power Point Application, but it may very well be possible to create a remote code execution for this.
