Trend Micro has always been committed to helping make the world a safe place for exchanging digital information, and now we are able to continue this tradition through our partnership with the United Nations’ International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The ITU is the United Nations’ specialized agency for information and communication technologies, and its membership is comprised of 193 countries and more than 700 private-sector entities and academic institutions.

So what will Trend Micro contribute to this partnership? In an effort to fight cyber threats and promote Internet safety globally, we will be supporting ITU’s Global Cybersecurity Agenda by providing resources, expertise, and research to help protect citizens around the globe.

For general education about cyber security, our global threat reports, like the recently published TrendLabs 3Q 2013 Security Roundup, infographics, and the expertise of Trend Micro threat researchers will be shared on a regular basis. Most importantly, we will provide threat alert updates for the ITU to keep key stakeholders informed about widespread attacks. The goal is to ensure that decision makers are immediately informed as cyber threats arise in hopes of mitigating the severity of global attacks.

This partnership also enables Trend Micro to continue supporting a safe online environment for children, as we will be providing the ITU with resources from our Internet and Safety for Kids & Families program. This supports ITU’s initiatives on Child Online Protection and will definitely help make the Web a safer place for young people to navigate.

Through our work with the ITU, we are truly helping to keep the world safe for the exchange of digital information, and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of this important cause.
