Earlier this year, TippingPoint participated in the NSS Labs Data Center Intrusion Prevention Systems group test with five other vendors. We submitted our TippingPoint 7500NX for the test on March 1, 2016, while still a part of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). During the testing process, a number of issues were found that reduced our security effectiveness and caused our product to receive a “Caution” rating.
A week later, on March 8, 2016, TippingPoint officially became part of Trend Micro. At that time, Trend Micro’s leadership was brought up to speed on the test results and took swift action to resolve the issues found during testing. When NSS Labs retested the new version of our product, our overall security effectiveness improved substantially to 98.1 percent. NSS Labs complimented Trend Micro for their “no nonsense, customer first” attitude in quickly fixing the issues. Unfortunately, because we missed the deadline for inclusion, the new version of the TippingPoint 7500NX will not be reflected in the NSS Labs Security Value Map (SVM) for Data Center Intrusion Prevention Systems.
We appreciate NSS Labs’ flexibility in allowing us the opportunity to submit a new version of the TippingPoint product for retest, and for noting our efforts to quickly rectify the product issues. We are fully committed to our customers and take tremendous pride in our relationships as we work to ensure the integrity, reliability, and security of our solutions. Our new home at Trend Micro positions us to uphold our commitment to provide our customers with unparalleled, best-of-breed security solutions, and unsurpassed customer support.
