Maximum Protection, Minimum Fuss: Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus+

The threat landscape facing Trend Micro customers today is a far different proposition to the one that existed when we started out 26 years ago. Back then there was no social media, little in the way of Internet or web traffic and commercial email was in its infancy. Fast forward to today and users take these services for granted, but also expose themselves unwittingly to countless threats in the process.

That’s why Trend Micro recently teamed up with leading storage provider SanDisk to offer a six month promotional offer of our Titanium Antivirus+ solution to all of its customers. The idea is simple: to offer industry leading security technology to as many citizens as possible in order to protect their digital lives from privacy erosion and online threats.

A look at the landscape

So exactly what form do these threats take? Today’s cybercriminals are a world away from the bedroom hobbyists who used to develop viruses and worms just for the hell of it. They’re professional, well-resourced and highly motivated – usually by money – to steal your online credentials to sell on or use to commit ID fraud. They may even be looking to fire malware at your PCs or mobile devices with a view to remotely controlling them.

Spam, phishing attacks and malware are all understood at least on a basic level by users, but the volume and level of sophistication is increasing all the time. For example, zero day malware has been designed to evade traditional AV tools by exposing previously unseen flaws in hardware and software.

Then there are threats to user privacy. Sometimes this can be as simple as forgetting to update your social media privacy settings. In a Trend Micro Privacy Poll last year only 24 percent of Facebook users said they change their privacy settings each month or more often, yet the same number said they’d posted something on websites that they later regretted or removed.

Maximum protection, minimum fuss

The answer is Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus+, a comprehensive security solution designed to protect users against viruses, malware and dangerous links found in social media, emails and search results. Designed with the user in mind, it’s simple to set up and install, and offers a no-nonsense user-friendly interface with easy-to-read reports on the state of your security. It also features the new Privacy Scanner for Facebook – a key enhancement which identifies the settings that may leave your personal information vulnerable.

But don’t take our word for it. Here’s a selection of just some of the fantastic industry recognition for Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus+:

  • Highest block rate (99%) for downloads of socially engineered malware (NSS Labs 2014 Consumer Endpoint Protection test).
  • Lowest “time to add protection” against unknown threats (<15mins) thanks to Smart Protection Network (NSS Labs 2014 Consumer Endpoint Protection test).
  • Top score (99.56%) for Real World Protection, beating 20+ other vendors (AV-Comparatives Whole Product Dynamic Real World Protection test 2013.)
  • Highest block rate (92%) for phishing sites (NSS Labs Endpoint Protection Products test 2013)
  • Lowest average time to block phishing sites (NSS Labs Endpoint Protection Products test 2013)

We hope SanDisk users will make the most of their free trial today and take Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus+ for a test spin. We’re confident there’s no better solution out there offering all the tools needed to protect every element of your digital life as you browse, email and socialize online.
