At Trend Micro we’ve been protecting consumers, businesses and government agencies around the world from the latest cyber threats for more than 26 years. What’s the secret to our success? Fantastic solutions and a global team of the very best threat researchers you can find anywhere on the planet, of course. We are fortunate to have a thriving channel and alliance partner community. But one thing that’s sometimes overlooked is the need for a truly world class sales team.

That’s why I’m delighted that Trend Micro was this week recognized as one of the 50 Best Companies to Sell For in 2016 by the influential Selling Power magazine. It’s testament to a corporate culture built on collaboration, transparency, and innovation and a sales team that’s achieved some great things over the past few years.

Building for success

When you’ve got an organization of more than 5,000 employees, it can sometimes be difficult to create a culture that means something to everyone. At Trend Micro we work hard to do just that as our company grows and new generations of employees join the team. Our sales team have come to represent the very best of our core values. Just like their colleagues around the world, our US team is an active, energetic bunch devoting their time to getting industry-leading cybersecurity solutions into the hands of end customers to protect their endpoints, networks, data centers and cloud deployments.

Our sales team understands the complexity of securing today’s computing environment and they work extremely hard to cultivate those all-important relationships with customers, prospects and partners. At Trend Micro, we maximize this talent by ensuring they have as much support as they need from technical, operations, support, and marketing teams. We make sure their time isn’t wasted on needless admin so we empower them with a strong suite of selling tools. We also encourage all of our teams to work across departments, which means they get to know people in other parts of the company and other parts of the world. It makes for a better informed, more dynamic sales team and a more vibrant corporate culture.

Being truly world class is not all about compensation and corporate profit.  We also place a strong emphasis on being a socially responsible corporate citizen. To this end, our sales teams, like all parts of the business, have been instrumental in giving back to their local communities. This includes building houses in the storm-ravaged Philippines, to working with parent-teacher associations in the US, to fixing up schools in Dallas, New Orleans, and Orlando, or taking part in Japan earthquake relief, where staff and corporate contributions totaled more than $1 million.

Today, over one-quarter of all Trenders take part in Give and Match programs supporting community efforts. This strong sense of social responsibility helps unite us as a company and gives our sales team inspiration in their day-to-day roles.

Best in class

For the past 17 years, Selling Power magazine has been a key source of data and analysis for sales staff as they look for new roles. In drawing up its much-vaunted 50 Best Companies to Sell For list it focused on:

  • Customer growth and retention
  • Hiring, compensation, sales training and enablement
  • Company recognition and reputation

With Trend Micro, you have a company which has led the way for over a quarter of a century in the cybersecurity space, with an array of industry-leading and award-winning products. We continue to grow our business. In each of the past two years (2014 and 2015), 20% of our customer base has been composed of new customers. We value our customers and they value our partnership, 90% renew services with Trend Micro every year.

So if you’re looking to join an energetic, empowered and successful sales team, get in touch with Trend Micro today.
