The number “one” is a very interesting number. Aside from its obvious role in mathematics, it has significance in everything from philosophy, literature, science and technology. Ultimately, it’s the number everyone strives to be.
As we were walking through the exhibit floor at Black Hat earlier this week, we saw a top 100 list on a booth. It was on the Microsoft booth and the list was the 2016 Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) Top 100. The MSRC works with partners and security researchers around the world to help prevent security incidents and to advance Microsoft product security. One of those partners is our very own Zero Day Initiative, which is listed as ZDI-Disclosures at the number one spot!
TippingPoint TMC Planned Maintenance Window
The Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Management Center (TMC) website (https://tmc.tippingpoint.com/TMC) will be undergoing maintenance on the following dates and times.
|Saturday, August 20, 2016||8:00 PM (CDT)||Sunday, August 21, 2016||5:00 AM (CDT)|
|Sunday, August 21, 2016||1:00 AM (UTC)||Sunday, August 21, 2016||10:00 AM (UTC)|
During the maintenance window, the Security Management System (SMS), Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Threat Protection System (TPS), Next Generation Firewall (NGFW), and ArcSight Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) connectivity to the TMC may be intermittently disrupted, thus preventing Digital Vaccine (DV), Threat Digital Vaccine (ThreatDV), Reputation Security Monitor (RepSM) and TippingPoint Operating System (TOS) updates from occurring. Customers with any questions or concerns can contact the TippingPoint Technical Assistance Center (TAC).
There were no new zero-day filters in this week’s Digital Vaccine (DV) package. A number of existing filters in this week’s DV package were modified to update the filter description, update specific filter deployment recommendation, increase filter accuracy and/or optimize performance. You can browse the list of published advisories and upcoming advisories on the Zero Day Initiative website.
Updated Existing Zero-Day Filters
This section highlights specific filter(s) of interest in this week’s Digital Vaccine package that have been updated as a result of a vendor either issuing a patch for a vulnerability found via the Zero Day Initiative or a vulnerability that has been published by the Zero Day Initiative in accordance with its Disclosure Policy.
A number of the zero-filters updated this week cover vulnerabilities in ManageEngine’s Desktop Central is integrated desktop and mobile device management software.
